A Love To Celebrate

I'm dreaming of a pink & red, flower filled, chocolate covered Valentine's Day. I love love & all of the gushy romance involved; epecially on Valentine's Day! I say bring on the cards, the roses, the gifts & the kisses. Yes, our worldly view of love is one thing, but it is so comforting to know that LOVE is seen as so much more according to God & His word. I have always highlighted & written down so many Bible versus from high school, college groups & even up to now that all have involved the love of our Lord & what it means to me.

Be completely humble & gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in LOVE.

Ephesians 4:2

Be devoted to one another in LOVE. Honor one another above yourselves.

Romans 12:10

Let all that you do be done in LOVE.

1 Corinthians 16:14

Hatred stirs up conflict, but LOVE covers all wrongs.

Proverbs 10:12

LOVE must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly LOVE. Honor one another above yourselves.

Romans 12:9-10

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing LOVE and his wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty & fills the hungry with good things.

Psalm 107:8-9

And we know that all things work together for good to those who LOVE God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

There is no fear in LOVE. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:18

And if you have followed me for a while now, you will know that this is one of my very favorites:

Because your LOVE is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

Psalm 63:3

I have always found it so incredibly intriguing & difficult to comprehend the love that God has for us. I think of the love that I have for my parents & brothers. Then I think about how my dad & momma explains their love for me. I think about how I much I will love my own babies one day. And to think that God loves each of us, flawed & messy sinners, even more than any of that. His love indescribable. It’s so hard for us to wrap our heads around. The grace He gives & the life He is allowing me to live... I am so thankful for His enduring & everlasting love for me. A love that I can never amount to or reach, but a love that I constantly feel.

So yes, while we are about to celebrate love with presents & candy, it is nice to think of the greatest of loves that we will ever receive & the best gift that comes with it. The gift of Jesus & how He died for our sins. Beyond this, we will never know a greater love.

Not saying that it is bad to celebrate Valentine's Day or indulge the box of chocolates we may get on sale the day after. Trust me, I'll be right there with y'all! But maybe slide in an extra "thank you" prayer & show God your thankfulness for His love for you, because He loves you so so sooo much!

Enjoy your love-dovey holiday whether it’s with your Galentines or your boo thang!

I wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!!
